SCE signe un accord avec l’Autorité du Marché des Capitaux du Sultanat d’Oman afin de partager l’expérience de Singapour dans les services financiers
Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) today announced it has signed a Collaboration Agreement with the Capital Market Authority of the Sultanate of Oman (CMA) to share Singapore’s experience in the financial services sector. This collaborative effort will provide advisory services for the strategic development of Oman’s capital markets.
This partnership results from the recent bilateral visit in December 2007 by Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers’ Affairs, His Highness Sayyid Fahd Bin Mahmoud Al-Said. CMA is responsible for organizing and overseeing the issue and trading of securities in Oman. It is headed by His Excellency Maqbool Ali Sultan, Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of CMA.
This Collaboration will further enhance bilateral relations by:
a) Enhancing G – G collaboration efforts to foster closer strategic partnership in the exchange of expertise and information between SCE and CMA;
b) Bringing together SCE and CMA to scope and identify suitable opportunities for deeper collaboration in order to differentiate and develop Oman as a vibrant financial centre;
c) SCE bringing in relevant public and private sector partners in Singapore to develop the capital markets in Oman.
SCE will be working closely with prominent private sector experts from Octagon Advisors to provide practical financial advisory services. Octagon Advisors is a Singapore-based business and risk management consulting company led by Mr. Koh Beng Seng, a former deputy managing director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
HE Yahya Said Al Jabri, Executive President of the Capital Market Authority said,
« We are delighted to conclude this Collaboration Agreement, which is an outcome of the visit of His Highness Sayyid Fahad Bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Minister’s Affairs to Singapore in December 2007 and the meetings held during the visit by HE Maqbool Ali Sultan, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Capital Market Authority, with the officials from Singapore Cooperation Enterprise. The Collaboration Agreement will boost and augment the exchange of expertise and information between CMA and SCE and will help place robust and sustainable framework for developing the capital market in the Sultanate. »
Mr. Alphonsus Chia, SCE’s Chief Executive Officer said,
« We are proud to partner Capital Markets Authority in this joint collaboration. This project is of strategic significance to Singapore as it represents SCE’s first collaboration with the Omani government. »
The agreement was inked by Mr. Alphonsus Chia and His Excellency Yahya Said Al Jabri, Executive President, Capital Market Authority of the Sultanate of Oman.
