SCE signe un accord tripartite avec la Municipalité de Kunming et la Banque Asiatique de Développement pour collaborer dans le développement des infrastructures

Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) announced that it has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Monday, 12 January 2009 in Kunming, with the Kunming Municipal Government and Asian Development Bank (ADB) to collaborate in developing infrastructure projects. The cooperation agreement was signed by Mr. Wang Dao Xing, Vice Mayor of Kunming Municipal Government, Mr. Seethapathy Chander, Deputy Director General, Private Sector Department of ADB and Mr. Alphonsus Chia, Chief Executive Officer of SCE.

The MOU will provide a platform for ADB and SCE to partner the Kunming Municipal Government in the following areas:
a) To offer advisory services to the Kunming Municipal Government to structure commercially viable infrastructure projects that will attract private capital, particularly in water supply, sanitation and waste water treatment. In so doing, ADB and SCE hopes to catalyze private sector investment in the infrastructure sector.
b) To provide capacity building and training for Kunming government officials in public administration, water and environmental management, transport management, human resource management and investment promotion.
c) To promote greater dialogue and exchanges between senior officials from Kunming government, ADB and Singapore with the objective to deepen mutual understanding and cooperation.

To kick-start this collaboration, the three parties will set up a working committee to jointly identify, develop and implement specific infrastructure projects and capacity building programmes.

SCE is pleased to have this opportunity to work with ADB to contribute to Kunming’s infrastructure development needs. Through the partnership, SCE hopes to foster long term collaboration with ADB and the Kunming Municipal Government, and generate business opportunities for Singapore’s public and private sectors.
