Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) va partager l’expertise de Singapour dans un portail électronique pour les commerces frontalières
Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) announced today that they have signed a Contract with the Kenya Trade Network Agency (KENTRADE), an agency under the Kenyan Ministry of Finance, to design and implement the Kenyan Electronic Single Window System (KESWS).
The signing took place in Kenya and the Contract was signed by Mr. Alex Kabuga, Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Trade Network Agency and Ms. Neo Poh Ling, Director, SubSaharan Africa, SCE. The signing was witnessed by Mr. Yatiman Yusof, Singapore High Commissioner to the Republic of Singapore.
Under the Contract, SCE will partner with CrimsonLogic, a leading provider of eGovernment solutions and services in Singapore, to implement a new Trade Facilitation Solution in Kenya. The KESWS will enhance efficiency of cross-border trade at Kenyan seaport, airports and border posts. When fully deployed, the system will enable traders to electronically submit documents to the relevant agencies to facilitate faster and more transparent cargo clearance. Agencies in Kenya can also share and exchange these related documentation electronically.
Beside cargo clearance, the system will also streamline trade permit and license applications, increase administrative efficiency and provide significant cost savings to the Kenyan trading community.
Mr. Kong Wy Mun, Chief Executive Officer of SCE said,
« SCE’s project with Kenya represents a significant step towards widening its footprint and engagements in Africa. We are happy to share Singapore’s expertise and experience through this trade facilitation programme and trust that it would contribute positively towards Kenya’s own growth and development as a nation. »
Mr. Leong Peng Kiong, Chief Executive Officer, CrimsonLogic added,
« We are very honoured by the Kenyan government to be chosen to implement such an important national initiative. The KESWS project is going to open more international trade opportunities for Kenya and further bolster its economy. I strongly believe that both the government and citizens will benefit tremendously from the ease of doing business in the near future. »
