Singapore Cooperation Enterprise signe un protocole d’entente dans la formation avec la Municipalité de Nanjing
Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on training collaboration with Nanjing Municipal People’s Government to share Singapore’s public sector expertise in various areas.
The Nanjing delegation, led by Mr. Zhu Shanlu, Party Secretary of Nanjing Municipal People’s Government, comprises senior government officials from Nanjing City and Nanjing Economic Bureau. The delegation is in Singapore from 13 – 16 August 2010 to attend an economic development seminar organised by Nanjing Municipal People’s Government and IE Singapore.
The signing of the MOU took place this morning and the MOU was signed between Mr. Alphonsus Chia, Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) and Mr. Zhao Xiaojiang, Deputy Mayor of Nanjing. It was witnessed by Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, Singapore Minister of State for Trade & Industry and Mr. Zhu Shanlu.
Nanjing is the capital and most populated city of Jiangsu Province. The MOU follows ongoing advisory projects that SCE is carrying out with Nanjing Planning Bureau, specifically in areas of transport planning and urban planning. These projects involve experts from LTA, URA, PUB and NEA who will share Singapore’s experience in urban transport management and eco-environment planning.
Under the MOU signed this morning, it outlines the framework on training collaboration for 100 senior government officials from Nanjing in areas like Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction, economic development, industrial park development, seaport management, etc.
SCE and Nanjing Municipal People’s Government will work together to scope and identify the selected areas of interest for deeper collaboration. SCE will also help customise training programmes for Nanjing government officials and bring in relevant public and private sector partners in Singapore to exchange knowledge and information.
Speaking at the signing ceremony today, Mr. Alphonsus Chia said,
« SCE is glad to partner Nanjing once again in sharing Singapore’s experience and we look forward to the arrival of the Nanjing delegates for their training. This MOU is an important extension of our cooperation with Nanjing. We hope that through this partnership, it will further enhance existing bilateral relationship between Nanjing and Singapore. »
The first batch of training for the Nanjing government officials is expected to start by end of the year.
SCE is also in discussion with Nanjing to share Singapore’s experience in education sector. In additional to Nanjing, SCE has been cooperating with more than 15 cities in China on sharing our public sector experience in various areas of interest.
