对外合作局与巴西米纳斯吉拉斯州签署谅解备忘录,分享新加坡公共服务部门在信息科技、总体规划方面的专长

Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil to share Singapore’s public sector expertise in Information Technology as well as Master Planning. This will be the first partnership with the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, for SCE.

SCE has been actively engaging the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, since early this year through the introduction by International Enterprise Singapore (IE Sing), to identify areas of collaboration between our two governments. SCE is also the lead agency to host the Vice-Governor of Brazil, Mr. Antonio Augusto Junho Anastasia and his delegation who are here on an official visit from 20 – 23 October 2008.

The objective of this agreement is to provide a framework for G – G collaboration efforts as well as to share Singapore’s experience in the fields of Information Technology and planning, learning and training programs required by the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

This agreement will also enhance bilateral relationships between SCE and the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, to scope and identify suitable opportunities for deeper collaboration. SCE, together with our partners, Changi Airports International (CAI) and Jurong International are also currently in discussion with the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil on a Master Planning project. This will include assessments and contributions for the macro structural planning within the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte and Tancredo Neves International Airport.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Alphonsus Chia, Chief Executive Officer of SCE said,

“This agreement is a significant step for SCE to forge closer ties between the two governments. We also hope that the collaboration will lead to more business opportunities for the private sector.”

The agreement was signed by Mr. Peter Ong, Deputy Chairman of SCE and Mr. Antonio Augusto Junho Anastasia.
