Public Sector Reform | Digital Transformation | Suva, Nadi and Lautoka Urban Master Planning
Over the last ten years, SCE has closely partnered Fiji in her growth journey, providing support in areas like urban planning, public service improvement and digitalisation.
The partnership started in 2010 when SCE collaborated with the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) to conduct a review of its policies and systems and provided recommendations for their enhancements. Many of the recommendations were implemented, which strengthened FNPF’s governance and business model. As a result, FNPF achieved exponential growth in its managed funds and enabled it to successfully weather various challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2018, SCE embarked on digitalFIJI, an initiative jointly undertaken with the Fijian government, to make more and better online services available for the Fijian people. This initiative aligns with Fiji’s National Development Plans to improve government service quality and accessibility. Meanwhile, from 2019 to 2024, SCE has developed a comprehensive urban master plan for Suva, Nadi, and Lautoka. Guided by former Chief Planner of URA, Dr Liu Thai Ker, the plan aims to foster sustainable growth and transformation in these cities, with a vision extending to 2075.
