Philippines Public-Private Partnership for Universal Health Care

In 2019, SCE collaborated with the Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines, the University of the Philippines, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Temasek Foundation (TF) on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative aimed at enhancing universal health care in the Philippines. This partnership provided a platform for leaders and specialists from both the Philippines and Singapore to share knowledge and experiences in PPP, with a particular focus on the healthcare sector.

As the programme manager, SCE, supported by Temasek Foundation and the International Finance Corporation, coordinated a series of workshops and sharing sessions in Manila and Singapore. These sessions reached around 100 leaders and representatives from the Philippine health sector, fostering greater interaction and collaboration between the two countries. The Philippine PPP programme, recognised as one of the more advanced in Asia, benefited from these engagements, further solidifying the Philippines’ position as a pioneer in establishing a PPP framework in the region.
