Singapore Cooperation Enterprise Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho to Share Singapore’s Public Sector Expertise
Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) and the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho (GOL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today to provide a high level framework for public sector collaboration between Singapore and the Kingdom of Lesotho.
The signing of the MOU took place during the Lesotho delegation’s visit to SCE. It was signed between His Excellency Mohlabi Kenneth Tsekoa, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the GOL and Mr. Alphonsus Chia, Chief Executive Officer of SCE. It was witnessed by His Majesty King Letsie III, King of the Kingdom of Lesotho and Mr. Zainul Abidin Rasheed, Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The Kingdom of Lesotho is a land-locked country within South Africa. The Kingdom is interested to exchange knowledge and expertise with Singapore and to understand our developmental experiences in various sectors.
Under the MOU, SCE will work with the relevant Singapore public agencies and private sector companies to collaborate with GOL in the areas pertaining to Public Sector Management, Civil Service Training, Information and Communications Technology, Transport and Communication, Trade and Investment, Financial Management, Education, Environmental Protection and Management, Water Resources Management, Tourism, Justice, Law Enforcement and Healthcare.
SCE hopes that by formalizing the MOU, it will pave the way for more discussions on new areas of collaboration and enhance the bilateral relationships between Singapore and the Kingdom of Lesotho.
King Letsie III and his delegation are on a state visit to Singapore from 25 – 27 January on invitation by President Nathan.
